Head in the clouds, feet on the ground

Dirt tours, back roads and the nerve to meet the unknown. These are the north stars that brought me from my hometown in the subtropics of Washington, D.C. out into a world of characters and adventure.

I studied international relations and comparative literature at UCLA, becoming senior writing and photography editor at UCLA’s oldest publication BruinLife. Between graduate level courses on threats to the liberal international order and crises of consciousness in modern literature, I spearheaded travelogues on the city of New Orleans and Chicago, concert coverage of local bands, in-the-thick images of the 2024 Palestine protests, and failed to surf the Pacific swell.

I will begin my Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing in fall of 2026 at The New School for Social Research, where’ll I’ll continue looking for the next frontier, be it exploring my dual U.S. and Mexican heritage, my love for the pastoral and life in the urban, or another chance conversation that sends me searching on for the next story.

I’ve posted my works of fiction, articles, and photographs on this site to compose a body of work that’s thus been scattered haphazardly across SD cards and moleskin journals — enjoy!
